Pastor Lawrence Charles Shuford, Jr. has led a life deeply rooted in faith and service, shaped by the spiritual guidance of his family, church leaders, and community. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, he grew up under the nurturing influence of his parents, Lawrence Sr. and Theresa Shuford. His spiritual journey began at Triumph Baptist Church, where he was baptized and discipled under the leadership of Rev. Dr. James S. Hall. During his youth, Lawrence was heavily involved in the church, participating in a variety of ministries such as the Sunbeam, Youth & Young Adult Choir, Usher Board, Junior. Deacon Board, and Bible teaching courses. This foundational experience in ministry helped shape his faith and call to service.
In 2005, Lawrence moved to Buffalo, New York to pursue his undergraduate studies, where his path in ministry continued. During this time, he was trained and licensed as a minister of the Gospel by Bishop Troy Anthony Bronner of Elim Christian Fellowship. After returning to Philadelphia, he became a founding member and served as the Assistant Pastor at The Kingdom Life Church under the leadership of Bishop Daniel E. Sutton. Lawrence's commitment to young adults and millennial ministry led him back to Elim Christian Fellowship, where he served as an Associate Elder, focusing on the Millennial and Young Adult Department.
Pastor Shuford's life is also blessed with a loving family. He is the husband of Ebony Shuford and the proud father of Leila Corrin Shuford and Lawrence Shuford III. He attributes much of his success to the wisdom, support, and sacrifices of both his immediate and extended family. Lawrence firmly believes in the importance of community and the “village raising” philosophy, recognizing that his achievements are a result of the investments others have made in him.
