Second Baptist Church of Frankford would like to welcome you and thank you for joining our church family. Traditionally there are three invitations that are set forth to becoming a member of a church, and they are through Christian Experience, Reinstatement or as a Candidate for Baptism. This process has been set in place to open the doors of the church for all, and to give you a better starting point as you begin your spiritual journey. Second Baptist Church of Frankford has established a five-week orientation class which takes place every Sunday morning from 9:30am to 10:30am.

During orientation you will become familiar with our church’s constitution and covenant which includes the responsibilities of the members, as well as the officers. You will also become familiar with the Christians ordinances which are Baptism, and the Lord’s Supper (Communion). You will also gain an understanding of OUR PURPOSE, OUR MISSION and OUR VISION STATEMENT.

You will be blessed with learning and discovering the history of Second Baptist Church which was founded in 1869 on the corner of Mulberry and Meadow streets in the Frankford section of Philadelphia. For over 152 years, we continue to be a vibrant part of our community.

During your five-week orientation you will be evaluated, and we'll discuss what class/training suits you best. God has blessed us here at Second Baptist with Theologians that are ready to take on those needed tasks.

The following classes are conducted every Sunday morning at 9:30 to 10:30am ̶ for those who are fairly new in the faith we have Christian Growth, and for our more seasoned saints we offer a more advanced Adult Sunday School and Christian Development class, for children we have a Children's Church that teaches them the ABC’s of the bible.

After a morning of studying God’s word, you will be blessed by our praise and worship team, and at 11:00am you will be fed by the preaching of the Holy word during our morning workshop service.

And to assure that you go un-hungry for the word of God from one Sunday to the next, we have prepared a table of God’s blessings every Wednesday at 7:00pm for Bible Study & Prayer Meeting.
